Night Kitchen was long overdue in updating their wordpress website to showcase their expansive portfolio of work, and they wanted something responsive, unorthodox, and visual. Housed on the Drupal content-management system, the site uses a tile-based structure which responds to various viewports and devices. I used the Bourbon/Neat SASS library for the site's fluid grid.

National Geographic has created a digital version of their Explorer magazine for publishing on iPad and Android tablets. I was given the opportunity to infuse transitions, animations, and CSS effects, to make their stories and lessons a fun, interactive experience for students. I headed a group of developers to the delivery of 4 editions of the magazine for the months of October and September. Application publishing was done through a third party, and we used Hammer.js for gesture-handling.

The Asian Art Museum was looking to create a digital representation of Chinese Brushpainting in order to teach students of the art form some of the styles major brushstrokes and forms. The interactive would primarily be featured on iPad and desktop computer. After researching the HTML canvas element as well as a few canvas libraries, I decided that paper.js was the best option. Working with the project manager and senior designer to create an interactive space where students can create custom works of art, download, and share their creations with friends and family.
The project required template selection, brush controls, save functionality, and undo capability. Since most of the variables involved were interrelated, this required the tracking of many different states across a variety of circumstances.

Curtis School of Music in Philadelphia wanted a site where video of student performances could be broadcast over the web. Built on the Drupal CMS framework, we chose a live streaming service, Kaltura, to manage live streaming. Since performances would be viewable on a large range of devices, there was a good deal of user testing. The result is cinematic, intimate, and educational.

The Smithsonian Institute's exhibit on the history of disability is a moving tribute to one of the most overlooked segments of our society. We researched accessibility including markup protocol, input/output devices, images/color techniques, text scalability, and more. The result is a site that is accessible and inspirational to all.

ShopFurbish wanted to combine their blog and ecommerce site into a seamless style powerhouse. Moving the site to BigCommerce from the ProStores Ecommerce platform, we ported their design across their blog, homepage, and shopping site. The client also wanted to manage their business from one set location. We were able to integrate shipping, inventory, and sales into one system. The site is easy to use, and ShopFurbish is operating with less overhead.

Gregory Kadel Studios wanted a minimal site that showcased their digital editing work in the photography field. They also needed a simple site for clients to access their images. I created a fluid HTML site that also gives the client the capability to update their images, site categorization, and client correspondence.

Interested in some of the work that I did during college? This site was conceptually based off of Tron, and features HTML5 and CSS3 techniques (which were fairly new at the time). It also showcases some of the more simple web design and artwork that I completed through college.
